Trying to send email from one of our WordPress sites hosted here at Obstance, to an email @obstance.com, ended up showing us this in our Exim logs:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: ****@obstance.com Unrouteable address
Eh, all right. So to get this fixed, we opened up
and inside of .ifdef DCconfig_internet
obstance: debug_print = "R: dnslookup for $local_part@$domain" driver = dnslookup domains = obstance.com transport = remote_smtp # ignore private rfc1918 and APIPA addresses ignore_target_hosts = 0.0.0.0 : 127.0.0.0/8 : 192.168.0.0/16 : 172.16.0.0/12 : 10.0.0.0/8 : 169.254.0.0/16 : 255.255.255.255 no_more
This does a DNS lookup so the server lets the email through. Though this has been a bit for naught, seeing as how Microsoft is shutting down Windows Live Admin Center in favor of their paid service, Office 365. Looks like we might be setting up our own email server in the near future.
